Tour Program

MHDC024– Yangon – Putao – Mandalay – Bago – Kyaikhtiyoe – Mawlamyaing – Pha An – Yangon
(28 Days)

Day - 1 Yangon Arrival

Arrive at Yangon International Airport, welcomed by our tour guide. Transfer and check-in hotel. Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, visit Chauk Htat Kyi Pagoda, reclining Buddha image. In the evening, a visit to Sule Pagoda which serves to mark the exact centre of the city and Shwedagon Pagoda, the most famous golden massive pagoda in the world. Dinner at restaurant and overnight stay at hotel.

Day - 2 Yangon – Putao – Shangaung

After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Putao. Proceed to Shangaung Village and overnight.

Day - 3 Putao – Wasang Dam

After breakfast, trek to Wasang Dam where 12 miles far and take 6 hrs walking distance. That would hike over 6000 ft hilly forest. Overnight stay in Wansang Dam at the village house.

Day - 4 Wasang Dam – Awadam - Ziyar Village

After having prepared breakfast, hike to Ziya Village (the last village where human dwelling at the northern remote area). We would across the local style cane and bamboo bridges. Observe the Ziyar creek and Ziyar Valley. Overnight stay in local house.

Day - 5 Ziya Village – Khalang - Waline Dam

After breakfast, proceed to Waline Dam. On the way, take a lunch rest at the Khalang. Continue to Waline Dam and overnight.

Day - 6 Waline Dam – Shangaung

After breakfast at the village house, trek to Shangaung by passing through to deep jungle above the 6500 ft sea level which take approximately 8 hrs walking time. We would celebrate Bon Fire and traditional Rawang dancing at night. Overnight stay in the Shangaung Village.

Day - 7 Shanghaung – Putao

Tour proceeds to Putao from Shangaung after having the hot breakfast. Overnight stay in Putao.

Day - 8 Putao – Mulashide – Putao (by car)

After breakfast at the guest house, proceed to Mulshide chain bridge. Observe the local villages. If you were lucky enough, you could see the timber works together with the elephants. Return back to Putao and overnight.

Day - 9 Putao – Mandalay

In the early morning , breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, stroll in Putao and visit local morning market. And then check-out from hotel and transfer to Putao Airport. Leave for Mandaly. In the evening, arrive at mandalay. Lunch at restaurant and overnight stay at hotel in Mandalay.

Day – 10 Mandalay

Sightseeing start to visit Kuthodaw (Maha Lawkamarazein Pagoda) which is famous as the world largest book of many stone slabs on which is inscribed the whole Buddhist Literature. And then proceed to Atumahsi Monastery and Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery). In the evening, enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Overnight stay at hotel in Mandalay.

Day - 11 Mandalay – Amarapura – Ava – Sagaing

In the early morning, breakfast at the hotel and tour proceed to full day excursion to the ancient cities around Mandalay to the Amarapura, Inwa and Sagaing. Overnight stay in Mandalay.

Day – 12 Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay

In the early morning, breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, visit Mingun along the Ayeyawaddy River by boat. Visit Mingun Unfinished Pagoda, Mingun Bell, one of the world largest hanging bronze bells and Myatheindan Pagoda. After sightseeing in Mingun, come back to Mandalay by boat. Overnight stay at hotel in Mandalay.

Day – 13 Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin

After breakfast at the hotel, drive up into the hills from Mandalay for a full day visit of Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo), a former British Hill Station. The road winds steeply through flower, fruit and vegetable gardens. Visit Pwe Kauk Waterfall and enjoy the countryside. Drive through Maymyo on a horse drawn "stage coach", giving you the chance to admire the brick and timber houses, complete with English style gables, turrets and chimneys. In the afternoon, visit Peik Chin Myaung Waterfall and Caves, filled with Buddha images. The road from Maymyo is very bumpy. This is a popular attraction for Myanmar tourists. OR visit the National Kandawgyi Gardens, which were laid out by Sir Harcourt Butler, the former governor of Burma – flowerbeds are similar to those you would find in an English country garden! The garden is recently renovated and the name has changed to “Kandawgyi National Botanical Garden”. In the evening drive back to Mandalay. Overnight stay in Mandalay.

Day – 14 Mandalay – Bagan

Early morning departure by boat on the Ayeyarwaddy River to Bagan. This downriver trip about 8 hours. Lunch is served on board. On arrival, transfer to hotel. And then Bupaya Pagoda to watch sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River. Overnight stay at hotel in Bagan.

Day – 15 Bagan

Early morning breakfast at hotel. After breakfast visit, Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar stupa, Kyansittha U Min, a tunnel with an interesting features of paintings. Lunch at restaurant. Visit Soemingyi Okkyaung, Nagayone Temple, Apeyadana Temple and Wetkyiin Gubaukkyi Temple with fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes. In the evening, visit enjoy sunset from Mingalarzedi. Overnight stay at hotel in Bagan.

Day – 16 Bagan – Popa – Bagan

After breakfast, tour proceed to Mt. Poppa where a house for Myanmar spirits. On the way study Myanmar traditional ways of living. Lunch at restaurant, after lunch return back to Bagan. Dinner at restaurant and overnight stay at hotel in Bagan.

Day – 17 Bagan – Inle (by flight)

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Airport for flight to Inle. Arrive at Inle and transfer to hotel. Tour proceeds to Inle Lake and overnight stay at hotel in Inle.

Day - 18 Inle Sightseeing

In the early morning, breakfast at hotel and visit Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, the most famous pagoda of the Shan State. Ywa-Ma village, gold and sliver smiths workshop. Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, visit Jumping Cat Monastery and floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and the famous leg rowers. In the evening, enjoy the sunset while visiting the Inle Lake by boat. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight stay at hotel in Inle Lake.

Day - 19 Inle - Yangon

In the early morning, breakfast at hotel and transfer to Airport for flight to Yangon. Arrive at Yangon and leisure at hotel and overnight stay at hotel in Yangon

Day - 20 Yangon - Bago - Kyaikhtiyo

After early breakfast at the hotel, full day seat in coach excursion to an ancient capital of Mon Kingdom, Bago (the Hansawaddy Dynasty). On the way, observe the World War Two Cemetery at Htaukkyant. Proceed to Kyaikpun the four sided huge Buddha images. Continue to Shwemawdaw, Shwethalyaung (a huge reclining Buddha image). After lunch at local restaurant, sightseeing continues to Bago market where Myanmar traditional cheroot industry is. Observe the Buddhism ways of living in Bago and environ.Tour proceeds to Kyaikhtiyo, the Golden Rock. Upon arrival at base camp by truck, transfer to the hotel on the mountain summit. Overnight stay at Kyaikhtiyo.

Day - 21 Kyaikhtiyo - Pha An

After breakfast at the hotel, tour proceed to Pha An, the capital city of Kayin State. There, you could observe minority ethnic group of Myanmar and their ways of living such as Sakaw Kayin and Poe Kayin. Moreover Geba, Gekho and Bwe are living in their unique culture, belief and customary. The State mark – Zwegabin Mountain slab is offering a picturesque view. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day - 22 Pha An - Mawlamying

In the pleasant morning, shopping and study at the Pha An market. Tour continues a capital city to another. That is Mawlamyaing, the capital city of Mon State. Sightseeing would proceed to Kyaikthanlan Pagoda, Uzzena Pagoda, Kawguan and Payon Caves where Mons’ religious places. Overnight stay at the hotel located on the bank of Thanlwin River (one of the longest river of Myanmar).

Day - 23 Mawlamyaing - Thanpyuzayat - Mawlamyaing

After early breakfast at the hotel, tour starts to Thanphyuzayat which is 34 kilometers far away from Mawlamying. There is an Allined War Memorial Cemetry for POW (prisoners of the war) who lost their lives in the famous Death Railway. Drive back to Mawlamyaing and overnight.

Day - 24 Mawlamyaing - Yangon

After breakfast at the hotel, drive back to Yangon for 97 miles. On the way, there will be many photo stops upon your needs. The green paddy field, farm works and there might be seen the buffalo boys. Overnight stay in Yangon.

Day - 25 Yangon - Chaungtha

After breakfast at hotel, tour starts to Chaungtha, the nearest beach of Yangon. Enjoy the picturesque view of the Ayeyarwaddy delta region along the trip. On the five hours driving trip, the endless paddy field, the nurseries and cashew plantations are can be found. Observe the agro and aqua culture of Ayeyarwaddy division. Upon arrival at Chaungtha Beach, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay and enjoy at Chaungtha Beach.

Day - 26 Chaungtha

Feel the breeze from the Bay of Bengal and enjoy the blue sea. The harmonic of 3Ss (the sea, sand and sun) can be enjoyed. Lunch and dinner at seafood restaurant. Overnight stay at Chaungtha Beach.

Day - 27 - Yangon - Chaungtha

After breakfast at the hotel, return back to Yangon. Lunch on the way at Pathein, the city of Ayeyarwaddy division. Sightseeing inclusive of Shwemudaw Pagoda, the market and the hand made traditional umbrella industries. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and overnight stay in Yangon.

Day - 28 Yangon Departure

After breakfast, visit Botahtaung Pagoda and Bogyoke Aung San Market, Scott's Market for shopping. After lunch, check out from hotel and transfer to airport to leave for your onward flight departure to conclude your unique experience in Myanmar.

 

Remark:Putao only

Above mentioned tour program is tentative private trekking program . The actual tour program will be varied upon the season and/or beyond our control. The tour would be conducted and lead by well experienced trekking and eco-tour guide. During December to April, there will be covered with snow on the hilly region. Between January and February, will be the thickest of the snow. May to November, there is no snow at that region. Along the trekking trip, there can be observed the local hill tribes such as Rawang, Lisu, Khamti Shan and some minor tribal and their belief and customary. All required equipments must be taken by the trekker such as trekking boots, tent, sleeping bed, air mattress, personal medicine and individual use.

All required documents must be submitted prior one month before arrival in order to apply for the permission to travel at that zone.
